Minda Cutcher  Minda Cutcher, Financial Advocate for Seniors

Biography
After a career in management, in 2008, Minda established her business to help older adults and their families with the financial challenges of aging. She has an undergraduate engineering degree from Cornell University and an MBA, with a concentration in Finance, from Northeastern University. Minda joined the Pathways Hospice Foundation Board in 2006 and is the current Chair. She also serves as Secretary on the Board for Senior Housing Solutions, an organization that provides below market rate housing for seniors whose sole source of income is Social Security. Leah Frankel   Leah Frankel, Registered Dietician

After completing her BS in Biology from UCLA in 2005, Leah continued her studies at the University of Arizona receiving an MS in Nutritional Science. Leah has worked as a dietician in the skilled nursing environments, and now continues her work in a variety of communities. In addition to serving as a registered dietician for Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz and with Yahoo, Leah serves as a nutritional consultant at the Los Gatos Jewish Community Center, is a columnist with MyHouseCallMD.com, and is an online instructor with the University of Phoenix. Leah is on track to design customized nutritional programs on a consulting basis.

Julie Groves  Julie Groves, Occupational Therapist

Julie Groves, OTR/L, owner and service coordinator of Therapy In Your Home – OT, PT, ST, has worked as an OT in home care for 20 years. In addition to providing this unique service, she assists with facilitating conversation around two difficult issues: safe driving and informing individuals on making life decisions on their own behalf. Julie graduated from the University of Puget Sound in l979 and has worked in many health care settings in the bay area. She is passionate about keeping up her skills and looking into the latest research and trends in health care, while staying focused on what matters: listening. Patty Kenny  Patricia Kenny, MS, RN, Geriatric Nurse Practitioner

Patricia Kenny has served in an intensive outpatient program clinical practice for 16 years, and is well known and respected in the healthcare community. She has worked as a nurse practitioner at El Camino Hospital, and is now a geriatric nurse practitioner with ElderConsult Medical Associates. Patty conducts home visits for behavior management of frail, elderly patients and specializes in depression, anxiety, and dementia in older adults. She did her post graduate work in nursing at the University of California, San Francisco.

Tiffany Mikles  Tiffany Mikles, Dementia Care Coach

Tiffany Mikles is a dementia care expert and holds degrees and certifications in several disciplines. She has a Physical Therapist Assistant Applied Science degree, a Social Service Director Certification, and an Activity Director Certification. Tiffany has worked in geriatric care since 1990, combining all credentials in different settings, including Administrator of designated dementia units. She has attended nearly 150 hours of continuing education classes related to dementia, and holds a certificate as an “AFA Qualified Dementia Care Provider” as sanctioned by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. Tiffany is the founder of ‘Dementia Care Coaching’ in San Jose which provides dementia and Alzheimer’s education to family members, staff in healthcare facilities, support groups and community interest groups. The Reverend Karen Swanson joined St. Andrew’s of Saratoga in 2010 to serve as the pastoral care and outreach services minister. Karen is recognized for her compassion and resourcefulness when it comes to working with the ill and aging population of our parish, as well as with people in the community. Karen joined St. Andrew’s after having served as the vicar of St. Andrew’s in San Bruno.

Jerrie Thurman  Jerrie Thurman, MA, Fitness Program Manager

Jerrie is the Fitness Program Manager for HIP at Stanford University. She coordinates a team of fitness professionals who instruct fitness classes for Stanford’s Health Improvement Program. She has collaborated on numerous Worksite Wellness and Department Programs and also manages the on-line health education materials on the Health Promotion Resource Center (HPRC) website. Jerrie has worked at Stanford for 20 years. She is also a 25+ year veteran of the fitness industry and is a former presenter at many local and international fitness conventions. Some of her professional accomplishments include: M.A. degree in Instructional Technology; B.S. degree in Human Performance/Exercise Physiology; American Council on Exercise Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Lifetime Community College Teaching Credential.
